Frequently Asked Questions
WHO CAN BECOME A CLIENT?
I work with individuals, ages 18 and older, who are located in the states of Illinois, California, New Jersey, or Florida.
CAN I USE MY INSURANCE?
While I accept Lyra Health benefits, I am not in network with any major insurance plans. Please read the next question below for information about how you may still be able to receive reimbursement for session costs.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO RECEIVE INSURANCE REIMBURSEMENT EVEN THOUGH YOU ARE NOT IN-NETWORK?
Yes, it’s possible, depending on your insurance. If your insurance plan gives you the option of out-of-network benefits (typically provided with PPO plans) I will be happy to provide you with a form called a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement of their covered amount. Please see Rates for more information.
HOW DO YOU PROVIDE THERAPY?
I provide therapy through telehealth, also called online therapy.
WHAT IS TELEHEALTH?
Telehealth is the same as in-office therapy, but over video. You'll receive a link via email, and at the time of our session, you click the link to enter our "therapy room." It is similar to Facetime or a videoconferencing system like Zoom.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF TELEHEALTH?
Telehealth services are particularly beneficial to people who:
want to minimize in-person interactions for health reasons
have a tight schedule
don’t want to deal with travel, parking, childcare, and sitting in an office waiting room
are homebound by a disability or illness
live in a more rural area
